Welcome to the first installation of Kickstarter Reactor! In this semi-regular article, I’ll present you with the Kickstarter projects I’m following and others that have been announced but have not started yet. I’ll present thoughts on any projects that I back personally. This week, we will look at video games!

Mighty No. 9 ( 13 days left. Mega Man spiritual successor by a team composed of people who made the original series. Potential: 5 out of 5.

Shantae ( 16 days left. Sequel to an ongoing series by the crew that brought us the previous games in the Shantae series as well as some other solid platformers like Adventure Time, A Boy and His Blob (remake) and the recently released DuckTales Remastered. Potential: 4 out of 5.

Hyper Light Drifter ( 24 days left. Upcoming indy game developers give us a pixel art action adventure game that I can only describe is Zelda meets Phantasy Star meets Bastion. Check it out! Potential: 4 out of 5.

Mutant League Football ( 27 days left. One of the original creators got the rights to this old franchise and wants to reinvent it for the modern gamer. Might be a longshot, but one to keep an eye on. Potential: 3 out of 5.

AwesomeNauts: Starstorm ( 16 hours. This game wasn’t even on my radar until I saw it on Kickstarter. This looks like a really fun take on the MOBA from a new perspective. This is actually an expansion to the already available AwesomeNauts. Potential: 5 out of 5.

Contagion ( 25 days left. Co-op survival horror. Sounds like a cross between Left 4 Dead and DayZ. Potential: 4 out of 5.

If you know a Kickstarter that everyone should get in on, let me know!
